NGC 281 "The Pacman Nebula"
About this object
NGC 281, also called "The Pacman Nebula" is a star cluster along with a large and rather faint emission nebula in Cassiopeia. Near the center of the cloud of hydrogen gas are several dark Bok Globules which can be better seen on the higher resolution view. The image combines the light from normal broadband RGB filters and Narrow Band Hydrogen, Oxygen and Sulphur filters by assigning colors to their spectral wavelength.
