About this object
NGC 4395 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. It shines at magnitude 10.19 but has a very low surface brightness since its oriented face on to us. NGC 4395 is 13 by 11 arcmin in size and is roughly 13 million light years distant. NGC 4395 has many red emission regions within the spiral arms and blue star forming areas. Also within the higher res image, many smaller and fainter galaxies can be seen to magnitude 18 and fainter.
