M77 and NGC 1055
About this object
M77 and NGC1055 share the field of view along with the bright blue star 82 Delta Ceti in this image. M77 the bright galaxy in the upper left is a seyfert type galaxy with a bright core and faint outer arms. NGC 1055 is an edge on spiral and both galaxies are nearly 60 million light years distant. M77 is one of the most remoteMessier Galaxies. These galaxies are located in the constellation Cetus.
