M78 in Orion
About this object
M78 is a beautiful reflection nebula complex located 1600 light years away in the constellation Orion. M78 is the bright nebula near the center of the image. NGC 2071 is the dusty bright cloud near the top of the image. The area around M78 is part of the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex which encompasses the Orion Nebula and the Horse-head Nebula.
