NOVA in Delphinius
About this object
On the 14th of Aug, a Japanese amateur astronomer Koichi Itagaki discovered a star which exploded in the constellation Delphinus. The image above was taken from my backyard on 19 Aug 2013. Nova Delphinus 2013 is the bright star in the upper left. Near the bottom of the image is the blue planetary nebula NGC 6905, another star which exploded eons ago and shed its gas into space.
