Auriga Region
About this object
These two images are wide field images is of the region around the constellation Auriga. In the top image, the bright star at the bottom of the image is Elnath shining at magnitude 1.7. The three bright star cluster in Auriga are in the upper left part of the image. The leftmost is M37, M38 is to its right and near upper center is M38. The red emission area contains IC410, IC 417, and IC405 "The Flaming Star Nebula". The bottom image is a higher resolution version taken at 200mm. Clicking on the images will show higher resolution versions of both.
