NGC 1624/SH2-212

About this object

Sh2-212 is the round red emission nebula in the lower left of the image. NGC 1624 is the star cluster located within this nebula and Sh2-212 is the hydrogen emission cloud surrounding it. NGC 1624 is located in the constellation Perseus. Dark dusk clouds can also be seen through out the image with the densest concentration in the upper right near another red emission nebula named Sh2-211
