About this object
Sh2-73 is listed in the Sharpless catalog as a HII region but this area is really a molecular cloud of gas and dust and a very faint one at that. Its located in the constellation Hercules. There are also references to it being a integrated flux nebula. Sh2-73 is also cataloged as LBN 105, IREC 53 and MBM 40. This image is centered on RA 16 11 41 and DEC +21 50 20. This image is the "first light" image from my new observatory.
