Skies above the Okie Tex Star Party
About this object
In extreme western Oklahoma near Kenton, the Okie Tex star party is held each fall. The extremely dark skies with no light pollution draws astronomers from around the globe to view and image. This view shows the observing fields with the summer Milky Way in the west. A bit of green and red sky glow also show up on the west and north horizon. Over 500 people registered for the star party this year. A larger view can be seen here
