A Parade of Reflection Nebula in Monoceros
IC2167-2169, NGC 2245, NGC 2247
About this object
Very close to the famous Cone nebula in the Constellation Monoceros lie several beautiful reflection nebula known as IC2169, IC2167, NGC 2245 and NGC 2247. IC 2169 is the blue reflection nebula on the lower left side of the image. IC 2167 is on the lower right side. NGC 2245 is the blue reflection area near top center and NGC 2247 is slightly higher and to its right. Interstellar dust can also be seen extending from IC2169 to IC 2167 and below and to the right of NGC 2247 as it extinguishes the glow of dim stars. This image combines 29hrs worth of data collected at the Star Dust Ranch Observatory site in Okeechobee Fl and my home observatory in Ocean Springs, MS.
