This image of Comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy was taken at the SDR star party in S Florida on 21 Jan. Its comprised of a 3 image mosaic. The large bulge in the comet tail was probably caused by a tail disconnection event that occurred on 20 Jan or early 21 Jan. Images taken on the evening of 20 Jan did not show this. A smaller disruption in the tail can be seen near the center of the image.
