The Cygnus region of the Milky Way

About this object

This image is of the constellation Cygnus the Swan. This prominent constellation is within the Milky Way and is prominent in the summer sky. Many red emission nebula and dusty tendrils fill this area of the sky. The bright star Deneb is a bit off center and near the top of the image. Next to Deneb is the famous North American and Pelican Nebulas. Near the lower left side of the image is the supernova remnant called the Veil Nebula. Many other deep sky objects are located within this busy area of the sky.
