Wide field view of M8 and M20, The Lagoon and Triffid Nebula's
About this object
This image is a wide field view of the area around the M8 and M20 in the constellation Sagittarius. M8, also called the Lagoon Nebula, is the larger red star forming region near lower center. M20, the Triffid Nebula, is smaller and is near top center. Along with red ionized hydrogen, this area also contains a beautiful blue reflection nebula. There is a huge amount of dark dust and myriads of Milky Way star clouds here too as we are looking towards the core of our Milky Way Galaxy.
