NGC 2170
About this object
NGC 2170 is a beautiful region within the Monoceros molecular cloud. Within this area are reflection and emission nebula and lots of background dust. Also visible is a inky black area on top of the red emission nebula which is a dark nebula and block most light from getting through. This can only be seen because of the light it blocks. This area is also a massive star forming region surprisingly close at 2.400 lightyears. This image combines light from normal RGB filters and Hydrogen Alpha
