About this object
Sh2-155, also known as the Cave Nebula, Sh2-155 or Caldwell 9, is a dim and very diffuse bright nebula within a larger nebula complex containing emission, reflection, and dark nebulosity. It is located in the constellation Cepheus. The Cave nebula is the brighter, glowing reddish area near the center of the image with a darker cloud of interstellar dust blocking the light from the center portion of it. This wide field image shows other areas of red emission nebulosity and dark clouds of dust along with several blue reflection nebula. The full resolution view is available by clicking on the image.
