Out on a Wing, NGC 2327

The image above is from the Digital Sky Survey (DSS) and shows where on the wing the field of view is in relation to the Seagull Nebula
About this object
This is an image of NGC 2327, a rather small reflection nebula embedded within a wing of the much larger Seagull nebula (IC 2177). For some reason many references to NGC 2327 point to the head of the SeaGull nebula but thats not it and why there are so many wrong references I don't know. Even an APOD lists NGC 2327 as this. According the SIMBAD, NGC 2327 is the small reflection nebula within the dark dusty area near center. There is also some faint red emission components to it. Above is a DSS image acquired using Aladin of the Seagull Nebula and the box is my field of view. NGC 2327 is the cross mark. The higher res color image at the top of the page is my image taken with a SVX152T 6" refractor and my QSI 683 camera. The small blue reflection nebula is near center. A lot of decent detail can be seen in the higher res links available below the image. Other objects are also in the field of view. Reflection nebula VdB 93 is the faint bluish reflection near the small star cluster in the upper left, above what looks like a tadpole, which is a star with a reflection nebula type tail. Sh2-295 is the round reddish nebula in the extreme left corner. It also has a star with a bluish reflection nebula fanning out from it called VdB90.
